Vehicles up to 2003 have a Lucus 5AS system and uses the type of remote below

This remote can be programmed to the vehicle without the need for a current working remote

Old remotes can be re used if they have the same version number eg: 3TXA

17TN remotes can be programmed to earlier versions

Vehicles from 03 on use a different security system called Pektron and uses the type of remotes below

Without an existing working plip or EKA code the new remotes cannot be programmed to the vehicle using the usual diagnostic tools.
